Home London Glances
Trafalgar Square
Trafalgar Square has always been one of my family’s favorite places to spend
the afternoon! After doing rubbings in Saint Martin’s Crypt or walking around
the enormous National Gallery we always feel energized and more at home!
Portabello Road
Every Saturday we pile onto the tube and venture out to Notting Hill for the well-known
Portabello Road Market. We usually get there around 7:30 or 8:00 to shop around. (We usually
shop a little and eat at The Lazy Daisy for a light breakfast.) Portabello Road is full of anything
you can think of. My sister finds much of her Silver items (for her business The Chelsea Lion - I designed her website!!!) here and I can always trust that I’ll find a new piece of Torquay for my collection!
Covent Gardens
This is such a fun market and play area!
Something is always going on whether it’s on
the sidewalk or down in the little performing
cafe area! We’ve gone here for years just to
hang out or shop in the Apple or Jubilee
Market! So much fun!!! (And yes this is the
same place in My Fair Lady...except they used
a sound stage...)
Harry Potter
This is for all of the Harry Potter fans out there! In 2002 we went to see the second HP movie
at the Odeon and this last trip (2004) we saw the third one the second night it was opened to the
public! It was awsome because this is the Odeon that held the world premiere only the previous
week. For all I know I could have been sitting in the seat where Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe,
or Emma Watson sat.
